Floating in the Dead Sea & Ma’In Hot Springs in Jordan

Today we have a video from my recent trip to Jordan which features the famous floating in the Dead Sea at the Kempinski Ishtar Hotel, heading to the Dead Sea Panoramic Complex for lunch and finally the beyond relaxing Six Senses Spa at the Evason Ma’In Hot Springs. I’m a big fan of adventure but also love stuff like this, it rejuvenates you and is a really nice break after some intense hiking, scuba diving and skydiving.

This was my third time to the Dead Sea and it’s always a special feeling when you first get in and literally float; it’s a sensation that never really gets old actually. If you do come, I suggest you not only float but also cover yourself in mud; I didn’t do it this time but in hindsight wish I had taken the few extra minutes as it really completes the whole experience. The Kempinski Ishtar is a wonderful hotel and budget permitting, I suggest you look into staying there when you go. That said, the Movenpick is also really nice and I stayed there the first time, also a great choice.

The Dead Sea Panoramic Complex offers some great views of the Dead Sea as well as a solid restaurant. We eat some incredible food throughout Jordan but this meal in particular was one that is particularly memorable for me. If you’re there in the late afternoon, you may wish to stay for sunset because supposedly it’s the “sunset spot” to get those epic photos of the Dead Sea. We were running a bit late and well, I was t the Six Senses Spa during sunset so although I would have liked to have seen it, definitely no regrets.

The Evason Ma’In is a beautiful place and beyond relaxing… One of the gents in our group had been there before and was really talking it up throughout the trip and it was just as nice as he had made it out to be. The hot springs are a major draw and if you book a spa treatment, you can enjoy the ones exclusively open to spa guests. If not the other one is also beautiful but it’s a totally different atmosphere, naturally. If you had an afternoon, it makes sense to enjoy the hot springs, get a massage, back to the hot springs, maybe some other treatment and of course back to the hot springs…

I had a massage and I opted for deep tissue which was unreal to say the least. I’ve had dozens if not hundreds of massages around the world and as I say in the video, the one I received at Six Senses ranks right up at the top. In fact, I think I got more than I had bargained for with the deep tissue massage.  All I know is that when it was done, I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and was completely and utterly relaxed.

If you’re coming to Jordan to see all the sights and enjoy the delicious cuisine, do spend a day just relaxing like this near the end of your trip. Slightly off topic, I’d love to see further developments in luxury adventure travel to the point where you climb a mountain or something before getting a helicopter ride to a spa like this where you’ll receive some treatments before a delicious dinner with a choice bottle of wine. I realize it’s a bit of a fantasy but who knows what the future will bring…

This campaign was created and sponsored by the Jordan Tourism Board in partnership with iambassador. That said, obviously all thoughts are my own as they always have been and always will be.
